In November 2021, participants and media from nations and territories around the world will arrive in Glasgow for COP26, the Conference of the Parties 26 – UN Climate Change Conference.
Although there may now be less participants in the wake of the pandemic, we still expect that during this time our city will be busy with delegates, visitors, activists and media.
COP26 will be the most complex event ever staged in Scotland and we want to be ready to support the delivery of a conference that has the appropriate covid measures in place so that businesses can feel confident about welcoming COP26 to Glasgow and contributing to the event’s overall success.
The eyes of the world will be upon us looking at how we assist in delivering the event but also manage likely activist activity, while keeping the city open for business and moving.
As host city, it is essential that Glasgow delivers a safe and successful Conference environment and experience for participants. It is equally essential that our citizens feel safe and Glasgow continues to function well during Conference time with disruption minimised for our businesses, residents and commuters.
With six months until COP26 comes to Glasgow, this virtual meeting will give you the opportunity to hear from organisers and delivery partners that are working together to support a safe and successful event and ensure legacy for the city.
